Access Statement for Oakview
(This Access Statement complies with the Disability Discrimination Act of 2004 and has been checked by Wales Tourist Board).
* Oakview is a barn conversion to two self-contained apartments
- A Ground floor apartment
- A 1st floor apartment with access via a flight of stairs from the main entrance hall.
* Oakview lies half a mile from the town of Crickhowell on the A40 trunk road between Abergavenny and Brecon. If travelling from Abergavenny towards Brecon, you will reach Crickhowell, where as you enter the town, you take a right turn after the 30mph sign, this is Llangenny Lane. Carry on past a row of houses and Oakview is located up the hill, the first entrance on the left with a sign for Graig Barn.

An elevated tarmac drive leads to the building and there is adequate space as a drop off zone with plenty of parking close by.

Entrance into main hallway is accessed via one low step and turn right for ground floor and upstairs for the 1st floor.

Once in the ground floor apartment there are no further steps. An archway divides the living/dining area from the kitchen. There is not a lot of space for someone requiring to use a wheelchair.

Both ground floor bedrooms are large.

Bathroom is of average size, a bath with handles and a shower situated above the bath.

There is an additional small toilet situated close to the living area.

1st floor can only be accessed via a flight of stairs.

No further steps once in the apartment.

Similar layout as ground floor, but the bedrooms are of average size due to the fact that there are 3 bedrooms upstairs.

There is a separate dining area.

Lounge and kitchen are located in the same area.

There is a patio area with a picnic table immediately outside the front entrance.

At the beginning of Oakview's driveway there are additional garden facilities. There is a BBQ area, decking with seating and a summerhouse. There is access to the 1st level of the decking area via a ramp, but you can only gain access to the summerhouse and BBQ area via steps.

The nearest town of Crickhowell is only half a mile away.

Buses are available from Crickhowell to Abergavenny and Brecon. There is a mainline train service operating from Abergavenny which is only 6 miles from Crickhowell.
